livestock means stock that is live and is used for production of items for domestic consumption. The term livestock in a broad sense includes all animals, birds and other living creatures used for producing items for the use of man. The major task of the department is to educate and train undergraduate students about different species and their management practices. It imparts technical, practical knowledge of livestock management by offering five undergraduate courses. The department is well equipped with laboratory facilities with advanced instruments viz. different housing systems, various livestock (Species and Breeds) Photograph, cream separator, Gerber centrifuge machine etc. Department has most experienced and dedicated faculty members with diversified areas of specialization.The staffs are actively involved in conducting teaching, on-farm activities, educational tours, which help to students to get knowledge about subject.
