Guest Lecture on Commercial Horticulture on 21 July 2022
On July 21, 2022 (Thursday), under the Experiential Learning Module (ELM) Program Dr. D. Y. Patil Agricultural College, Talsande (Dist. Kolhapur) organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Commercial Horticulture’. Er. Mahesh Asabe (Fruit Production Expert; Founder & Director, Asabe’s Agro Nutri Pvt. Ltd & Managing Director of Rukhmini Farm and Nursery, Akola (Wasad), Tah.- Sangola, Dist.- Solapur) gave in-depth guidance with examples on the future of Dragon fruit in India, Technical knowledge, importance of market, export opportunity and Processing by emphasizing the five elements of successful dragon fruit production. Chairperson of the program, Principal Prof. D. N. Shelar appealed to students to utilise all resources within campus as well outside the campus to explore yourself to find out the business opportunity in agriculture for the betterment of career.
On this occasion, Prof. A. B. Gatade (Head, Farm Operations DYP Group, Kolhapur) present as a Chief Guest, Prof. R. R. Patil (Education In-charge), Dr. M. G. Lagare (Program Coordinator), Dr. N. R. Kadge (Module Incharge), Dr. V. B. Shinde (Assistant Professor) and final year students of B.Sc. Agriculture degree program were present. The program was anchored by Mr. Ganesh Pawar (Student Representative) and introductory speech given by Dr. N. R. Kadge (Module Incharge), while the student Mr. Rohan Dhanawade gave vote of thanks to the audience.
