The department concentrated mainly on developing and strengthening its under-graduate teaching programmes. The under graduate teaching in Agricultural Economics started with two Assistant Professors. The faculty members of the department specialize in the fields of Production Economics, Farm Management, Agricultural Finance, Agribusiness, Agricultural Marketing. The aim of our department is students are studying and analysing the aspects that influence the agricultural economy and distribution of resources, such as land, raw materials, labour and machinery. Regarding this concern, we are arranged educational visits, study tours and guest lectures which provides thoughtful learning to students.

Agricultural Economics is an applied field of economics. It is one of the most sought-after departments in India. The Department of Agricultural Economics have made contribution in Production Economics, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Finance, Farm Management & Agri-business Management. Department has one laboratory which has fully utilized for conducting each course. Different charts were prepared with respect to different courses and used at the time of teaching as teaching aid.
